Decrease of Skills
After reading all three novels for the summer homework, it became clear to me that we depend greatly on our modern technology. In Brave New World, the characters rely so much on their soma to get through their daily lives that this made a connection to how much we depend on our technology. We can have various information at our hands in a matter of seconds. Instead of fixing a broken item, we have machines to fix it for us. Each day I see countless commercials on the television that advertise the newest products which can make a task much faster with less effort. There are so many things technology has been able to do for us, even if we are capable of doing them ourselves. Although these can be seen as improvements and benefits, can we also be losing some of our skills along the way? Do you think that in the future technology will be replacing what we are used to doing on our own, and that we will need to rely on it more than anything?

Its not that we will lose skills which is the problem, it is that these skills will become so irrelevant that possessing them would be merely a waste of space in your brain. Yes, we are becoming more and more dependent on technology because it is the most convenient tool to turn to. By enjoying the benefits of this tool, we sacrifice a certain amount of self power.
