We Have Become the Subjects

The internet will always be like food to me. In order to fuel your body, you need food, right? Similar to food, I feel as if I need the internet to fuel the entertainment part of my brain. In The Shallows, it is like the internet is becoming a dictator, stopping at no costs. Some of us are becoming weak minded people with the internet controlling our lives. Strangely, we depend on the internet for many every day reasons. Instead of going to the bank, we handle money online. Instead of going over to restaurant and ordering food, we call a delivery man. Instead of going to the library to research for a school project, we go straight to google and type in the topic. We have become so dependent, to the point where I feel as if we can no longer function by ourselves. It makes you wonder how the people in the 1960's dealt without a laptop.

How has the internet intertwined in our lives so smoothly? Why can't we resist the terrible temptations of laziness? Why is the internet more powerful than us? We are all human; We created the technology we have nowadays. Thanks to our own innovations, we have become the subjects and our inventions have become the rulers. Is there any way we can overpower the throne (a.k.a. our technology) now?
