Just Can't Get Enough?

The online social networks can become very addicting when first introduced. I believe that it is much more appealing towards the younger generations however. Many teens feel the need to be in this imaginary 'loop' that they have created. In the beginning, it is very amusing and entertaining. However, that affect will soon fade away, and we catch ourselves thinking why even bother going on here anymore? There's nothing more to do. Yet, we still keep our page, and go on occasionally when we feel like it, or just to see if there is anything knew or interesting we might want to know about. Then when we do end up finding something that sparks our interest, we get attached all over again, and we find ourselves struggling to let go. Deep down, people know it is really pointless, that this social network is merely for fun and games, and even looks sometimes. Looks can be from updating profile pictures or other pictures just showing off places that you've been to. Though we can't lose sight that it is only a social website and nothing more.

  1. The question is, why do we find ourselves hooked on these social networks? I believe it is because it has become our way of life. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner is everyone's daily activity, right? That is basically what the internet has become in our daily lives. I'm sure every day after school all of you sit down in your swivel chairs and log into your facebook or your twitter account.

The internet continues to rot our minds due to its noneducational sites, which are far more appealing and interesting. The internet found a way to merge itself into our lives and it gradually tries to overpower our minds. To be honest, I think the internet will soon be the true, dominant controller in the future. No one will have the ability to resist and turn away from the temptations considering the teenagers lack of effort to delete their accounts. Seriously, these social networks have become an addiction as bad as drugs and drinking. Somehow, we need to find away to build that resistance before it's too late.
