I'm Sorry...

I was in a little bit of a predicament. When we went to the library as a class to check out our non-fiction novels, I found myself checking out Devil in the White City by Erik Larson. It seemed like it would be a very intersting and thrilling novel. I do not know if any of you have ever expierenced this, but I just cannot get into this book. I have tried for the last week to really get into it, but it's just not happening. So since I figured out that I basically had nothing to blog about today, I decided it was best to get a different book. I just purchased A Year Of Living Biblically by A. J. Jacobs on my kindle, for I really enjoyed my sample. So since I just got it 10 minutes ago, hopefully you undersand how I have only read the introduction.
Nevertheless, through that inroduction I learned some things about the author. I discovered he was clever, and very funny. I found myself laughing out loud many times, especially when he discovered he had his ex-girlfriend's bible and had no idea how. I think he had a very interesting point when he was discussing how they use oral law along with written law. (Written law is written in the bible.) Jacobs bring up how they ask their rabbis what is right with the interpretation of written law is a good idea. I never really thought about this, for in my unstrict catholic home, we more or less accept the fact that we cannot alway be what god wants us to be. I never even had the thought of going and asking a priest on advice on interpretation of the bible. But maybe that is one of the many differences between Judaism and Catholicism.
I am very excited to keep reading, because I am very interested in how this all going to unfold. What a crazy idea, right? It's so odd that I cannot help but continue reading.
