Eating Animals
I am reading a book by the name of Eating Animals written by Jonathan Safran Foer. In this book Jonathan discusses why he transitioned between being an omnivore and a vegetarian, during his time as a student in high school, and college. He talks about his wife and how she believes the same things that he believes in. When his child was born he had to make dietary choices for his child. His questioning toward dietary choices became an urgency. His impatience for answers quickly lead him to factory farms to see the ingredients of meals from his childhood, and explore some of his most primal intuition between right and wrong. He descriptively mentions how some animals are produced and handled. Most of the things that i have read are very disturbing, but yet very interesting. It is crazy to think how the things we eat get processed but also is very sickening to see a plate of chicken and remember how it is produced into the form it is in. Overall I am loving this book and am seeing food in a different way. I really don't want this book to end and cannot wait what other animals he describes later on in the book.
