--af Core Competencies for 21st Century

Seriously.  It's the 5th, and I am the first person to post in July.  Should I be concerned? (Please see Competencies 4, 5. 6 and 7)  Is there a secret pact among you to hold out until the very end? Underwhelming performance due to absence of extrinsic incentives?  Remind me not to rely on the intrinsic motivation of an incoming AP class again.

Here are some early summer blog stats to consider:  876 page views, 21 posts (33% of them written by the teacher), 17 comments, 19 people signed up, 12 open but unanswered invitations.

According to Tony Wagner (Change Leadership Group, Harvard Graduate School of Education), the Core Competencies for the 21st Century are

1.    Critical thinking and problem solving -- asking the right questions
2.    Collaboration across networks and leading by influence
3.    Agility and adaptability
4.    Initiative/entrepreneurial spirit
5.    Effective oral and written communication
6.    Accessing and analyzing information
7.    Curiosity and imagination
